Afua Asantewaa to launch another Guinness World Record singathon attempt in Kumasi this December

Afua Asantewaa, the event planner and tourism ambassador known for her marathon singing attempt, has announced plans to host another edition of her singathon in Kumasi this December.

In December 2023, Afua Asantewaa captivated the nation with her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon, previously set by Sunil Waghmare. Despite her dedicated effort spanning five days, she was ultimately disqualified.

However, the determined singer has revealed that she has secured new clearance from the Guinness World Records for another attempt in Kumasi.

“I can tell you on your show that, God willing in December, I will be hosting another singathon, but this time in Kumasi. My team and I are conducting a feasibility study to determine the most suitable location in the city. This will give residents in the area an opportunity to experience the event and further strengthen my ambassadorial role,” she shared.

Afua Asantewaa emphasized that her previous setback will not deter her from achieving her goal of becoming a Guinness World Record holder.

“The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t be a barrier to my quest of becoming a Guinness World Record holder,” she said.

She added that her team will soon hold a press conference to officially launch the Kumasi edition of the singathon.
