Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Sector Reforms Secretariat, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritise the future of their children and the nation as they prepare to elect a flagbearer for the party.
He emphasised that choosing Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum would be the most meaningful and forward-looking decision the delegates could make to secure the future of generations yet unborn.
According to Mr. Boafo, Dr. Adutwum had, over the years, demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt, both as Deputy Minister and later as Minister for Education, that he was a visionary and generational thinker dedicated to building a progressive and knowledge-driven Ghana.
He noted that, the transformative policies championed by Dr. Adutwum during his tenure helped revolutionised the country’s education landscape, expanding access, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing skills development for thousands of Ghanaian children.
“This is the kind of leader Ghana needs at this crucial moment, someone who can accelerate national development in this era of rapid technological advancement,” he told NPP delegates of Atwima Nwabiagya South.
Mr. Boafo made these remarks at Abuakwa during an engagement with party delegates as part of Dr. Adutwum’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.

He cited several milestone initiatives undertaken by Dr. Adutwum that positioned him as a transformational leader capable of propelling Ghana into a competitive future
He said Dr. Adutwum spearheaded the establishment of modern STEM senior high schools and STEM centres, equipping students with skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to prepare them for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
He also championed curriculum reforms that emphasised critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy and problem-solving
According to him, Dr. Adutwum oversaw the construction of model schools, modern laboratories and science facilities to enhance teaching and learning outcomes at all levels.
Mr. Boafo said these remarkable achievements clearly reflected a leader with the competence, foresight, and commitment needed to build a strong human capital base for national development.
He added that with such innovative interventions, Ghana was better positioned to drive sustainable socio-economic progress through education-driven transformation.
He reminded delegates of the urgent need to elect a leader whose vision and legacy would leave lasting footprints capable of benefiting multiple generations.
He therefore charged them to make a wise and strategic choice by entrusting their mandate to Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, stressing that the future of the country’s children depended on decisions made today.
