Adane Best forgives Kuami Eugene over copyright dispute, urges him to keep learning

Ghanaian Highlife musician Adane Best has announced that he has forgiven Kuami Eugene after previously accusing him of copyright infringement. The claims, dating back to 2018 and 2020, suggested that Kuami Eugene’s songs were influenced by Adane Best’s original works.

In an interview on Asempa Showbiz Review, the Wo Bre Na Wenya hitmaker reflected on their past issues, acknowledging that Kuami Eugene had used melodies similar to his but chose to let the matter rest.

“If you know music, you can tell that most of the melodies he used were from my songs. I can prove it, but that’s not important now. It’s an old issue, and I don’t want to dwell on it,” he explained.

Adane Best, born Joseph Amoah, further stated, “I have forgiven him. I have wronged others before, so when someone wrongs me, like Kuami Eugene, I let it go.”

While recognizing Kuami Eugene’s success in the industry, Adane Best encouraged the Lynx Entertainment star to remain humble and keep learning. “Kuami Eugene is good, very, very good, and I commend him. But he should keep learning. He doesn’t have to think he knows it all,” he advised.
