Ebenezer Smith, a Ghanaian chef who gained notoriety for fabricating a claim to hold the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon, has expressed regret for his fake declaration.

At a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, Chef Smith said that he held the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon by an individual as of right now.

The certificate Chef Smith displayed at the press conference, however, is not from GWR, according to inquiries made with GWR.

Chef Smith said, “I’m so sorry, I don’t deserve to,” in a teaser of an interview he gave to Accra-based GHOne TV, which the channel posted on Facebook on Saturday, July 6, 2024. I apologize and I implore the entire country.”

His actions have brought him into the difficulties he is currently facing.
