Mr Ernest Yaw Anim, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu, has called on the citizens both home and abroad to join hands to support development initiatives in the area.
He said education remained a central pillar in the development of the area, and there was the need to ensure that every child was provided with a conducive learning environment capable of shaping his or her future.
Mr Anim was speaking at the inauguration of the renovated six-unit classroom block for the Nkwanta AME Zion primary school in the constituency.
The renovation works included new roofing, improved ventilation, refurbishment of the classrooms, and other ancillary works.
Mr Anim said collective responsibility was crucial in accelerating progress and improving the quality of life of the people within the communities.

He expressed concern about the rising spate of encroachment on school lands in the constituency and warned individuals attempting to illegally such properties to desist from it, adding that, the practice was a major obstacle to the future expansion of educational facilities.
“As your MP, I will use my office to fight any encroachment on our school lands. We will protect all public school properties from individuals who attempt to take advantage because the future of our children must be safeguarded,” he declared.
Mr Anim also urged school authorities, teachers, and residents to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to preserve the newly renovated facility.
He emphasized that the long-term benefits of such investments depended on regular upkeep and responsible community involvement.
Mr Kwabena Agyei, the Headmaster of the school, thanked the MP for the gesture and said it would enhance teaching and learning activities.
He however, appealed for additional support to help address the outstanding needs of the school.
These include the establishment of a computer laboratory, provision of sports equipment, construction of teachers’ quarters, a fence wall, and the employment of a watchman to enhance security on the school compound.
