Mr Tolu Dada, the Deputy Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Limited (GTBank), has reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to nationwide expansion and digital-led financial inclusion during the official opening of its Ho Branch, the 38th GTBank branch in Ghana.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Dada said the opening of the Ho Branch aligned with the bank’s strategic ambition to establish a presence in every region of the country, noting that Ho, as the capital of the Volta Region, had significant economic potential.
“It is part of the bank’s strategic direction to expand into all regions in Ghana. Being the capital of the Volta Region, we anticipated the need to be present here to better serve the community. We thank the people of Ho for warmly welcoming us. This is the beginning of good things to come,” he said.
He noted that the Bank would continue to open new branches in other regions soon as part of its vision, to be present in all communities across the nation.
Mr. Dada emphasised that GTBank Ghana operated as a full-fledged retail bank, strategically positioned to serve individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients.
He reiterated the Bank’s inclusive onboarding approach, noting that customers could open accounts “with zero balance.”
“Our target market is everyone, individuals, SMEs, and corporate institutions. We pride ourselves on being a digital-first and forward-thinking bank. Although we have physical branches, our customers can access nearly all services online,” he said.
He explained that the bank offered retail loans for salary earners, SME capital support, and an array of digital banking channels aimed at promoting convenience and financial accessibility.
“Today’s ceremony is not just about opening a building; it is about opening doors, doors to new opportunities, deeper relationships, and stronger partnerships with the people, businesses, and institutions of this region,” Mr. Dada noted.

“We recognize the vibrancy of the Volta Region, its growing business landscape, and its rich human potential. We are here to support that growth and to help make the aspirations of individuals and enterprises a reality.”
Mr. Dada reaffirmed GTBank’s dedication to supporting education, youth development, culture, and community empowerment.
He said beyond banking, GTBank was deeply invested in supporting education, community development, and youth empowerment.
Mrs. Agnes Owusu-Afram, Divisional Head of Corporate Communications and Experience at GTBank, highlighted the Bank’s longstanding relationship with the Ho community.
She recalled the Bank’s significant CSR intervention in April 2022 when it fully refurbished and equipped the Ho Technical University Basic School’s ICT Lab with more than 60 computers.
“That project was an investment in the future, providing young learners with the tools they needed to participate confidently in the digital world. The impact deepened our connection with this community,” she said.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, the Registrar, Dr. Edem Honu, described the opening of the Ho Branch as a significant contribution to the Volta Region’s economic ecosystem.
“Expanding into Ho reflects not only strategic vision but also confidence in the economic potential of the region. Banks today are agents of local development; they support entrepreneurs, empower institutions, and create opportunities for communities to thrive,” he said.
He commended GTBank for its investment in ICT education, stating that the Bank’s interventions go beyond charity but represent meaningful investments in the region’s future.
Togbe Adu Bobi IV, Afetorfia of Ho Bankoe, urged the Bank’s staff to prioritize customer care and maintain a competitive presence in the Municipality.
He welcomed the Bank to Ho, describing the Municipality as the “oxygen city of Ghana,” and encouraged the staff to engage market women and the wider business community to build strong local partnerships.
Some potential clients who interacted with the GNA expressed excitement about the Bank’s presence.
Existing GTBank customers residing in Ho said the new branch would ease their banking operations now that services are closer to their doorstep.
