Jegri Bekala mine donates GHC200,000 to Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital

The Jegri Bekala Limited, a Dormaa-Ahenkro-based mining company in the Bono Region has presented GHC200,000 towards the on-going renovation works at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital (DPH).

Mr Collins Atta Poku, General Manager, Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, the Jegri Bekala Limited said the cash was in line with the mine’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to give back to society.

He made the presentation at a durbar to climax the 70th anniversary celebration of the Hospital at Dormaa-Ahenkro, saying the company remained responsible for sustainable mining by adhering to best practices and high ethical values and environmental sustainability.

Mr Poku said the safety of the mine workers remained a priority and pledged the company’s commitment to help bring the development of the local communities to the next level.

He said the company would continue to support the growth and development of the Hospital to enable the facility to deliver its core mandate of providing access to quality healthcare.

Mr Poku also appealed to natives of Dormaa, home and abroad, to also support the rehabilitation of the Hospital.
