Exercise patience, we’re working hard to address all placement challenges ‐ Dr Glover

Dr Belinda Glover, the Deputy National Coordinator for the Free Senior High School (FSHS), says the school placement resolution centre is hopeful of fixing all challenges brought before it by close of Friday, October 17, 2025.
“This is to enable all students to report to their respective placed schools on the scheduled date of October 18, 2025,” he said.
Speaking to the media at the centre (GNAT Hall), in Accra on Monday, Dr Glover, therefore, appealed to parents and the students to exercise patience as the school placement resolution system was up to the task.
Her assurance followed the continuous massing up of parents and students at the centre, who were dissatisfied with the recent school placement and wanted some changes made.
With barely a week to the official reporting date for form one students, many parents are anxious that their children may not meet the deadline if their challenges were not addressed.
Dr Glover said officials were working around the clock to address all challenges brought before them to enable every student to report on the scheduled date.
For instance, she said, officials had had to stay up late into the night just to fix as many challenges as possible to reduce the burden parents and their children faced.
She has, therefore, appealed to parents to exercise patience with personnel at the centre to ensure a smooth exercise.
“We close here every day at 12 midnight. If you think I’m in doubt, ask when you walk out, get at the entrance, ask the security man. So, we want to, as much as possible, cover the numbers. So, by Friday, hopefully we should be done,” she said.
She reassured the public that their needs would be addressed, saying measures had been put in place by the Ghana Education Service, even after the official closing date of Friday, October 17, to continue to receive and resolve complaints.
“If you’re not able to complete it, they can also come to us at the Ministry of Education, FSHS Secretariat, or they can come to GES, and then the issues will be dealt with.”
“Now, we also have our regional resolution centres, they can equally go to those centres…”.
Giving details about the daily work at the centre, Dr Glover said on average, between 800 and 900 complaints were resolved each day, most of which were related to change of school.
“Everybody, as I mentioned, one way or the other, they’ve all been placed, but they don’t like where they have been given, so they come back for change. That is all that we are battling with here,” she said.
