Trasacco condemns illegal demolitions and defends lawful ownership of Tema land

Trasacco Estates Development Company Limited will continue to be firm against land dispute, threatening their transformative residential project along the Accra-Tema motorway.

“We unequivocally affirm that the land was lawfully acquired from the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) through a 2004 agreement, formalized in a lease dated 29th November 2012, covering 270.1 acres. For nearly 12 years, Trasacco has diligently developed this land, enabling third parties to lawfully acquire and build their property”.

A statement signed by Mr Kwame Owusu Danso, Corporate Affairs and Legal Director of the Trasacco Group and copied to the Ghana News Agency said until recently, their clients enjoyed peaceful occupation without any third-party encumbrances.

“It is deeply regrettable that certain individuals, in a desperate bid to claim what is not theirs, have resorted to whipping up religious sentiments by falsely involving His Eminence, the National Chief Imam in this matter. Our Director of Security, Col. Salifu (Rtd.) contacted the Office of the Chief Imam, which confirmed that no such publication or claim was authorized”.

The statement said the attempt to exploit religious sensitivities to justify illegal actions was unacceptable and must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.

“Equally disturbing is the report that military personnel, allegedly, aided encroachers in the unlawful demolition of fence walls and property belonging to Trasacco and its clients. These actions, carried out without verifying the truth or engaging with us, have caused significant distress to families who trusted Trasacco with their investments. We categorically deny baseless media reports suggesting that Trasacco has blocked access to any group, including the so-called “Muslim Community.” Such narratives are misleading and designed to inflame tensions”.

The group called for an immediate investigation into the criminality and the swift arrest of those involved in the illegal demolitions.

“The rule of law must prevail, and justice must be served. Trasacco urges the authorities to protect our clients’ rights and ensure accountability. We remain committed to delivering quality homes and a thriving community in Tema, undeterred by this orchestrated disruption. Let truth and fairness guide us forward”.
