Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North and President of Nukunu Football Club, has announced the appointment of Christian Chibueze as the new Head Coach of Nukunu FC.

Coach Chibueze, widely known as “Mourinho,” arrives with a strong record, having guided Ho-based Home Stars FC to Division One qualification two years ago.

His appointment, on a two-year renewable contract, signals Nukunu FC’s determination to scale greater heights in the Volta Regional Football Association Division Two League (Southern Sector A).

“We are delighted to welcome Coach Chibueze into the Nukunu family. His experience and expertise will be vital as we enter this new chapter,” Mr Agbana said.

Coach Chibueze expressed excitement about the challenge ahead, saying “I’m honored to join Nukunu FC as head coach. I look forward to working with the players, staff, and fans to achieve great things together.

“My commitment is to work hard, stay focused, and push the team to be the best version of itself. I’m confident we can bring joy to our supporters,” he said

The new coach outlined his five-pillar blueprint for the club which involved: Team Unity – building strong spirit and togetherness; Player Development – sharpening skills and raising fitness levels; Playing Style – implementing an attractive but effective system of football; Competitiveness – assembling a squad capable of challenging for top honors; Community Engagement – strengthening ties with fans and ensuring the club remains a proud representative of the region.

In addition to the managerial boost, the Tadzewu-based Club had also secured the signing of Augustine Ahiataku Kpogba, a talented defensive midfielder from Home Stars.

Kpogba, who impressed in Division One and attracted interest from three Premier League and several Division One clubs, opted to join Nukunu FC after intense negotiations.

“We know Kpogba’s quality and believe he will make a huge impact here. His decision to join us reflects our growing ambition,” the club noted in a statement.

With the 2025/26 Division Two League season set to kick off in October, Nukunu FC is gearing up with renewed determination, strengthened leadership, and fresh talent to challenge for promotion.
