There is heavy vehicular traffic in Sunyani, the Bono regional capital following the bursting of an underground pipe-line of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the heart of the ‘city’.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) gathered that a pipeline had been underground of the Nana Bosoma Roundabout in the ‘Rex Area’ for decades and burst around 2200 hours on Monday, August 25, 2025.
During a visit to the scene on Tuesday, the GNA noticed that engineers were seriously working on it, as authorities blocked one side of the main principal street of the capital, contributing to heavy vehicular traffic in the Sunyani Central Business District.
The situation is, however, unpleasant for drivers, creating nuisance in the regional capital.
As at the time of filing this report, Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive had visited the scene and assured the residents and drivers to cope, saying the problem would be fixed soon.
