Mr Isaac Yawson, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti- Morkwa in the Central Region, has urged his fellow government officials to embrace diligence and commit to the principles outlined in John Dramani Mahama’s “second coming” campaign messages.
During the National Sanitation Day clean-up initiative in his district, Mr Yawson highlighted the importance of collaboration among appointees to honour the promises made by the President.
He cautioned that without such dedication; Ghanaians may not see the real benefits of government initiatives and called for unity beyond political affiliations to ensure that all the pledges came to fruition for the betterment of all citizens.
The Kontihene of Twifo Traditional Area and chief of Twifo Nyenase, Nana Nkwantabisa III, raised concerns about the dissipating power of traditional authorities and called for restoration for them to check indiscipline in their areas.
He called on the government to fulfil its commitment to chiefs to regain their authority to effectively guide their communities, as promised during the campaign.
Mr Hakim Adei, Central Regional Council of State Member and NDC Constituency Chairman for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, refuted claims that government had diminished the powers of chiefs.
He encouraged chiefs to become more involved, stressing the government’s objective to improve sanitation and reset the country for the betterment of all.
