Police Hunt Four Suspects in Teleku-Bokazo Gold Robbery

The Western Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for four suspects involved in a gold robbery at Teleku-Bokazo in the Ellembelle District.
According to a statement signed by Superintendent Olivia E.T. Adiku, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, police in Esiama responded to a distress call around 5:30 p.m. on July 30, 2025, reporting an armed robbery at a gold-buying shop. The suspects, armed with AK-47 rifles and machetes, fled towards Salman after the attack.


Police pursued the robbers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. One suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Abdul Rahman, was critically injured and named Mohammed and others as accomplices before dying at the St. Martin De Porres Hospital in Eikwe. His body was deposited at the morgue.
Preliminary investigations showed the attackers stormed the gold shop, shooting and inflicting machete wounds on two attendants. The victims, Samuel Appiah, 29, and Kwamena Nketiah, 45, were admitted to St. Martin De Porres Hospital with severe injuries.
Following further intelligence, police arrested Mohammed Adamu, 25, on August 1, whose name had been mentioned by the deceased suspect. The search for the remaining suspects continues.
