Mr. Elvis Kofi Bomassah, Acting Public Relations Officer of the Ho Municipal Directorate of Education, has praised the organisers of the recent artificial intelligence (AI) training for teachers and urged that the initiative be extended to more schools across the region.
“Technology in education is no longer optional. We must empower our teachers to adapt and innovate. This tool will make them smarter, more efficient, and enhance classroom delivery,” he stated.
More than 200 Basic and Junior high school teachers in the Ho Municipality participated in the intensive capacity building programme aimed at enhancing their digital teaching skills through AI integration.
The two-day training workshop, held on the theme: “AI for Teachers”, took place from July 10 to 11, 2025, at the NAGRAT Conference Hall in Ho.
It was organised by Jesi AI in collaboration with Node Eight, the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ho Municipal Directorate, and Jangala, a UK-based non-profit organisation.
The initiative was designed to equip public school teachers with practical digital tools for lesson planning, classroom delivery, assessment preparation, and student performance tracking using Jesi AI, a generative AI – powered teaching assistant developed in Ghana and aligned with the national curriculum.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Perfect Amegboe, Chief Operating Officer of Jesi AI, said the platform was created to complement, not replace, teachers in the classroom.

“Our focus is on helping teachers save time, reduce burnout, and engage students more meaningfully,” she noted.
The workshop addressed key challenges faced by public school teachers, including heavy workloads, limited resources, and the demands of adapting to modern digital teaching tools.
Participants received practical, hands-on training in prompt crafting, lesson plan generation, test creation, and AI tools customised to their subject areas.
Felix Nanor, Jesi AI’s lead engineer, led participants through simplified sessions on the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, its importance in education, and how to apply digital tools effectively to improve teaching outcomes.
Mr. Emmanuel Agbleta, a computing teacher at Ho Housing M/A Junior High School, described the platform as both efficient and time-saving.
“I’ve tested the platform7 and it’s brilliant. I can now prepare full lesson plans and assessments7 much faster. This will be particularly useful for schools with limited staff,” he told GNA.
In an interview, Mr. Brian Dzansi, Founder of Jesi AI, highlighted the company’s long-term vision to build practical educational tools tailored to the realities of Ghanaian classrooms.
“We are developing tools that are simple, effective, and easy to use even for teachers with minimal digital skills. Our aim is to make technology work for teachers, not the other way around,” he said.
Some participants also provided feedback for future improvements. Ms. Naomi Kaley of Akoefe M.A JHS praised the platform’s features but expressed concern over the absence of Ghanaian Language content.
“The AI platform is top-notch, but its inability to generate lessons in our local languages is surprising. I hope this will be addressed soon,” she remarked.
Another participant, Ms. Rejoice Etornam Ahiadome from Hodzofe R.C Primary School, was equally impressed with the tool’s classroom applications.
“What I like about this platform is how it helps generate lesson plans faster, supports lesson delivery, and monitors students’ performance effectively,” she added.
Organisers explained that Jesi AI is built in line with the GES-approved curriculum by NaCCA and represents one of the first AI-driven teacher training initiatives in the Volta Region. The tool supports lesson preparation, classroom management, assessments, and virtual learning for students.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote digital inclusion and equity within Ghana’s education system. Organisers say plans are already underway to assess the impact of Jesi AI in classrooms and roll out the programme to other municipalities nationwide.
Node Eight, a Ho-based innovation hub, co-organised the event as part of its commitment to advancing entrepreneurship, enhancing digital skills, and fostering community development across the Volta Region.
