Eight candidates have been caught with foreign materials at the Dodo-Amanfrom Examination Centre during the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
They were apprehended during the writing of the Career Technology paper by two West African Examination Council (WAEC) officials on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
The suspects were asked to write statements; after which they were instructed to continue with the examination.
Mr. Michael Agbeko, the Supervisor in-Charge of the centre, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) when reached.
He stated that the invigilators were not implicated in the incident.
Mr. Christopher Agor’ll, the Kadjebi District Examination Officer, also confirmed the incident to the GNA.
He advised the candidates to refrain from bringing foreign materials into the examination halls, as there are consequences if they are caught.
Kadjebi District in the Oti Region registered 1,467 candidates for the BECE, including 765 males and 702 females.
