NDC is “Sakawa”, vote for NPP to facilitate opportunities for you to work in Canada – Dr. Opoku Prempeh

NPP Vice-Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being a “sakawa” government. He alleged that cases of “sakawa,” a fraudulent practice combining internet scams with traditional rituals, significantly decreased under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Speaking to a group of nursing trainees in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, cautioned that voting the NDC back into power would lead to a resurgence of such activities.

“All John Mahama and the NDC know is sakawa. Sakawa cases always rise when the NDC is in government. Have you heard of sakawa cases in recent years since the NPP came to power? If you make the mistake of voting the NDC back into power, sakawa cases will rise again. Men and women will go missing. We are left with five days to election day. We will vote massively for Dr. Bawumia and any NPP candidate,” NAPO declared.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh also addressed the concerns of nursing trainees, promising that the NPP would maintain their allowances and create opportunities for international employment.

“In the new NPP manifesto, we said we would continue with the payment of allawa. We will start exporting nurses and teachers. So, even if we cannot find a place for you to work locally, we will organise and facilitate opportunities for you to work in Canada,” he assured.

His remarks sought to rally support for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the party’s parliamentary candidates ahead of the elections.
