Mahama Would Lose Again in 2024 Election – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has criticised former President John Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, for failing to provide a clear roadmap for his proposed 24-hour economy policy, just days before the December 7 elections. He highlighted the power crisis during Mahama’s tenure as a significant setback that undermines the credibility of his plans.

According to President Akufo-Addo, Mahama’s inability to present a comprehensive plan for implementing the policy raises concerns about its feasibility and potential economic impact. He pointed out that every President before him, except Mahama, had been re-elected for a second term, attributing Mahama’s 2016 defeat to what he described as abysmal performance and widespread dissatisfaction among Ghanaians.

President Akufo-Addo further stated that Mahama’s administration’s record over four years led to his rejection at the polls in 2016. He urged Ghanaians to reject Mahama again in the upcoming elections, citing trust issues and the potential risk to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy introduced under his government.

Akufo-Addo warned that Mahama’s return to power could jeopardize the progress made by the current administration, particularly in the education sector. He argued that Mahama’s previous tenure was marked by poor performance and unfulfilled promises, eroding public trust.

The President called on Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President. He emphasized that a vote for Bawumia and NPP parliamentary candidates in the nine constituencies of the Oti Region would ensure continuity, growth, and a brighter future for Ghana.
