The classic Ajax logo will officially return as the club’s emblem from the 2025/2026 season. As a result, the classic logo will return to its shirts after 34 years.

CEO Menno Geelen explains the return of the classic logo: “Ajax will celebrate its 125th anniversary on March 18. The celebrations include the announcement of the return of the classic logo. We know that most of our fans have coveted this for years and we thought our 125th anniversary was the perfect time to bring back the classic logo to us and our fans.

“Furthermore, history has shown that we are at our best when we are true to Ajax’s DNA. That is why we do everything in our power to preserve this DNA, from our football philosophy to our core values.

The return of the classic logo symbolizes this commitment and is both a tribute to our rich history and an inspiration for the future, a future based on everything we value at our club. »

The return of the classic logo will be celebrated today at a sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA, where Ajax Legends will take on Real Madrid Legends. Kick-off is at 15:30.

The classic logo will officially be visible from the 2025/2026 season. From then on, the logo will gradually be placed on all the expressions of the club.
