On Sunday, Donald Trump announced that he will appoint Tom Homan former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as “border czar”, a key figure who oversaw the separation policy of the nation’s controversial family.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump called Homan a “pillar of border control” and said he will “join the Trump administration at the head of our nation’s borders.”

Trump said; Tom Homan will oversee “the southern border, the northern border, all maritime and air security,”.

Trump praised Homan, saying there was “no one better to monitor and control” the borders and added that he would be “responsible for all deportations of illegal aliens to their countries of origin.”

In an interview with Fox News earlier Sunday, Homan defended Trump’s mass deportation plans and said, “This is going to be a well-targeted, well-planned operation carried out by the men and women of ICE… When we go there, We know who we are looking for and most likely where they are, and it will be done humanely the highest standards of prohibition in the industry, these people will be well taken care of.
