The Electoral Commission (EC) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, credible election process that upholds democratic values and strengthens public trust. As part of this effort, the EC has launched a targeted recruitment initiative, bringing on board over 200 experts in mathematics, statistics, and other quantitative fields to enhance operational efficiency and bolster the accuracy of election outcomes.
In a media interview on Tuesday, November 5, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, highlighted the significance of precision and transparency in the upcoming elections. He underscored that the EC is devoted to minimizing errors of any kind that could undermine public confidence.
Dr. Bossman Asare emphasized that the newly recruited experts bring strong analytical skills essential for accurate data collection, vote tallying, and statistical analysis, all of which are vital to a trustworthy election process.
“The Commission has already recruited over 280,000 individuals to work on this election,” he stated. “Additionally, we have hired professionals with backgrounds in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics to support quantitative methods, assisting returning officers at the constituency level,” he shared in an interview with Citinewsroom.com.
