Former Arsenal player Mohamed Elneny has confirmed completing the UEFA Coaching course and has obtained his UEFA A license. This allows him to become a coach after he retires from playing football.
The UEFA A license is the second highest coaching license issued by UEFA, which allows the holder to be the manager of a youth team up to the age of 18, a reserve team of a first-class club division or of a professional men’s club of the second division.
This means that Elneny is now eligible to take charge of Arsenal’s U-21s (for example), or a Championship team, if he wants to return to England. If Elneny wanted to manage the first team of a Premier League club like Arsenal, he would first need to obtain his UEFA Pro license.
An interim manager does not need the Pro rating, but they can only lead the team for a maximum of 12 weeks. After that, you must have your Pro license.
Elneny is still playing football and has appeared Eight times for Al-Jazeera this season.
