In the wake of Freedom Party flagbearer Akua Donkor’s passing, Afia Schwarzenegger has revealed that she was originally appointed as her running mate in 2015. To substantiate their connection, Afia shared photos with the late politician on social media.
Afia also recalled a recent conversation on October 25 with Roman Father and Madam Akua Donkor, where they reminisced warmly and shared laughter about their past collaboration.
“I was the 1st appointed running mate of the Ghana Freedom Party in 2015. I know people will not believe it, so I went into my archives. Funnily but sadly, I spoke with Roman Father and Madam Akua Donkor last Friday, and we had a very good laugh about it,” she wrote, concluding with a heartfelt tribute, “Rest in perfect peace.”
Akua Donkor’s passing, announced early on October 29, 2024, has sparked an outpouring of condolences on social media. At the time of her death at age 83, she was actively campaigning for the 2024 elections, set to take place in just 39 days. Her promises included free vehicles for journalists, duty-free port services, free education, and better wages for farmers.
