The Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged voters in Asunafo South to adopt a unified voting approach instead of the traditional skirt and blouse process.
Although the NPP has consistently had presidential election victories in the constituency, it has struggled to win the parliamentary seat currently held by Eric Opoku of the NDC.
During his engagement with stakeholders in Sankore, Dr. Bawumia insisted that if elected, the NPP parliamentary candidate, Francis Aduse Opoku, would play a vital role in his government.
“Vote for me because I am going to improve your life. Everyone knows that in Asunafo South, you always vote for the NPP in the presidential election but you don’t vote for us in the parliamentary election. But I want you to change in 2024, stop voting in skirts and blouse and vote directly for us in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
“I want the people of Sankore to start changing this pattern and vote for Adusei so I can add him to my next government. Don’t leave us this year, we are both number 1.”
As part of his campaign efforts in the Ahafo region, Dr. Bawumia is expected to visit three constituencies: Asunafo South, Asunafo North and Asutifi South, on Thursday.
His itinerary includes meetings with leaders, business leaders and party supporters to promote his vision and gather support for the upcoming elections.
Before the visit, some residents of Norbekoi in Asunafo South Constituency supported the New Patriotic Party, adding that they will continue to vote for the party.
