Barcelona’s midfielder Aitana Bonmati won the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year. She helped Barcelona achieve a remarkable quadruple by winning the Champions League, Super Cup, the Liga F, and Copa de la Reina, last season by scoring 19 goals in all competitions.
Bonmati also won the Women’s Nations League title with the Spanish women national team, scoring four goals. She was among the scorers in their 2-0 win against France in the final.
“I am very grateful to receive this award for the second time. I am lucky to have good colleagues who help me to continue to improve. I will do better.” These were Aitana Bonmati’s words after receiving the award.
Her teammates Lucy Bronze and Lauren Hemp were ranked 20th and 28th. Emma Hayes won the Women’s Coach of the Year award after guiding Chelsea to a fifth Women’s Super League title and then guiding Team USA to Olympic gold in Paris in 2024.
