Nadia Buari clarifies kissing scenes as make-believe, not real emotions

Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has opened up about the nature of kissing scenes in movies, explaining that they are purely make-believe, designed to create believable romantic moments for the audience. The Beyoncé star stressed that while the kisses appear genuine on screen, no real emotions are involved.

“They are not real. It is make-believe. However, we are trying to convince people, so we were really kissing, but it is real for the characters, not for the actors. There are no feelings involved,” she explained.

Nadia emphasized the importance of emotional detachment during such scenes, which are often filmed with multiple crew members present. She described portraying characters and filming intimate scenes as the most challenging aspects of her profession.

After taking a break from acting, Nadia is marking her return with a lead role in Forever in a Night, produced by John N. Okwugo and directed by Jameel Buari. The film premieres on November 9, 2024, at both the Accra Mall and West Hills Mall in Accra.
