Akua Donkor, founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has passed away. The 2024 presidential candidate reportedly died on the evening of Monday, October 28, 2024, while receiving treatment at Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Though the exact cause of her death remains unknown, she was 83 years old.
Akua Donkor was listed as the third candidate on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 elections, which are only 39 days away. She had been actively campaigning, promising ambitious policies including free vehicles for journalists, duty-free port services, free education, and better pay for farmers.
