End of an Era: Erik Ten Hag Sacked

Manchester United have sacked Erik Ten Hag just weeks into the season. Ruud van Nistelrooy former Manchester United striker who was the second assist to Ten Hag now taking charge as interim coach.

This season has been Manchester United’s worst start to a Premier League season. United secure 11 points after nine games scoring 8 goals and conceded 11 leading to Ten Hag dismissal despite signing a one-year contract extension in the summer.

During his tenure, he won two domestic titles for the Reds, winning the league Cup in 2023 and FA Cup in 2024.

The Club’s new minority owners, Ineos led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe had no option than to sack him with Manchester United’s recent abysmal performances winning just one of it’s last eight games in all competitions.

Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate, Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna and Sporting’s Ruben Amorim are some of the candidates for the vacant position.
