Dr. Bossman Asare assures citizens that the EC will guarantee successful elections.

According to Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, a deputy chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), the Commission is making every effort to guarantee that the nation organizes another successful general election.

According to him, the Commission was certain that a peaceful procedure would lead to this year’s election being both credible and successful.
He added that “we believe that the politics is about the contest of ideas” and that the nation had achieved strides in its democracy.
“The ultimate objective is that we want to ensure a highly peaceful, a highly inclusive, a highly participatory electoral process that is also embedded in integrity,” he said.

Forum
This was stated by Dr. Asare last Thursday during the commencement of the AME Zion Church’s Second Consultative Forum in Winneba, Central Region.
Approximately 600 people from all throughout the nation are attending the forum.

Vote

The National Commission for Civic Education, churches, and everyone else were urged by Dr. Asare to encourage all registered voters to participate in the process.
He stated that if everyone participated in the process, “we might end up with an outcome that reflects the will of the people.” Therefore, we do not want a situation in which only half of the population will go and select our leaders. Therefore, we are urging everyone to make sure they participate in the voting process as soon as they are registered to vote.”
He claimed that in order to maintain peace and quiet at every voting place, the EC had worked closely with the security services.
Instrumental

According to Lucille Hewlette Annan, the NCCE Secretary, the church played a vital role in preserving harmony prior to, during, and following the elections.
She stated, for example, that one of the things the church could do was to allow the NCCE to speak to its people.

“We are begging that you make time for us to talk to our people,” she stated on election day. These young individuals are now casting their first ballots.
The occasion was hosted by Rt Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dogbe, the Presiding Prelate of the AME Zion Church’s WWAED, who explained that the church chose to utilize the first day to consult on the national elections because it was an election year.
