Justine Agbenu’s grandmother criticizes Salifu Amoako’s family for insensitivity following tragic accident

The family of Justine Agbenu, one of the victims in the accident involving Elrad Amoako, son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, founder of Alive Chapel International, has expressed frustration over what they describe as insensitive behaviour from emissaries of the Amoako family.

Grandmother of 12-year-old Justine disclosed that a junior pastor from the Bishop’s church made dismissive remarks while attempting to reach out to their family.

“On Sunday, a representative called my son-in-law, saying they wanted to visit us. When my son-in-law mentioned that the matter was with the police, the emissary responded, ‘It has happened already,’” she recounted, expressing her displeasure at the response.

The family declined the visit, believing the legal process should run its course. “What were they coming to do? I don’t have any issue with them; the matter is now with the police,” the grandmother said.

She also insisted that Elrad Amoako, who caused the fatal accident, should face justice. “The boy must face the full extent of the law so it serves as a deterrent. Parents need to be more responsible,” she emphasized.

The tragic accident occurred on October 12, 2024, when 16-year-old Elrad lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by Joseph Ackah. The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames, killing Justine Agbenu and another occupant of the Acura, who were burned beyond recognition.

Following the accident, Bishop Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and a sales assistant, Linda Bempah, were arrested on charges of permitting an unlicensed individual to drive. They were granted bail of ¢50,000 each by the High Court in Accra on October 16, 2024.

In a video shared on October 18, Bishop Amoako issued a public apology to the victims’ families, asking for forgiveness and expressing deep sorrow. He admitted struggling to come to terms with the tragedy and pleaded for mercy.

Meanwhile, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani reported that Elrad Amoako is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital as he recovers from the accident.

The case remains under police investigation, with the families of the victims demanding full accountability.
