Ghana Police Arrest Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, Wife

Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service in connection with the fatal accident at East Legon on October 12, 2024. Their 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, was behind the wheel of the Jaguar SUV that crashed into an Acura, claiming two lives.

The accident occurred when Elrad lost control of the vehicle at Mensah Wood Street in East Legon, ramming into the Acura driven by Joseph Ackah with four other occupants. Both cars caught fire and were burned beyond recognition.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, particularly considering Elrad’s age and the severity of the crash. Bishop Amoako and his wife are currently in custody, assisting with the investigation.

A team led by Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare visited the bereaved family to offer condolences and also checked on the injured at the hospital. The police assure a thorough investigation to bring closure to the affected family.

The police are working to determine the full circumstances of the incident, with Bishop Amoako and his wife cooperating with the investigation. The Inspector-General of Police has personally visited the affected families and assured a thorough probe.
