Akufo-Addo’s Endorsement: Bawumia Best to Succeed Me

President Nana Akufo-Addo has given his stamp of approval to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, his Vice President, as the ideal candidate to succeed him as President of Ghana. Akufo-Addo believes Bawumia has the necessary competence, capacity, loyalty, and love for the country to continue Ghana’s development.

During a ‘Thank You Rally’ in Damongo, Akufo-Addo urged the electorate in the Savannah Region to vote for Bawumia in the December 7 polls, emphasizing the need to build on his legacies. He highlighted his administration’s achievements in the region, including the creation of the Savannah Region, construction of three factories under the One-District, One-Factory initiative, and various road infrastructure projects.

Some of the notable projects mentioned include:

– Damongo Water Project: 80% complete
– Road Infrastructure: 460km of roads being constructed, 10km asphalted in Damongo, and 300km of feeder roads gravelled and improved
– Education: Daboya College of Education absorbed by the government, set to be inaugurated in two weeks
– Free Senior High School Policy: 5.7 million students benefited, with 1.6 million currently enrolled nationwide
– One-District, One-Factory: 169 factories completed and operational, 152 under construction

Samuel Abu Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, praised Akufo-Addo’s administration for its unmatched achievements in the region, particularly in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and social interventions.

Akufo-Addo’s endorsement of Bawumia is seen as a significant boost to his presidential bid, emphasizing his ability to continue the nation’s development and build on existing legacies.
