It has been verified that Salifu Amoako is the driver of the white Jaguar that collided with a Honda Acura at East Legon in Accra on Saturday, killing two people.
Along with the other survivors of the disaster, Salifu Amoako is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.
In a statement dated October 14, 2024, the Police identified Salifu Amoako as the Jaguar’s driver and stated that inquiries are still underway into the deadly collision that happened on Saturday, October 12, on Dzanie Ashie Street in East Legon, Accra.
Salifu Amoako is the son of Alive Chapel International’s Prophet Salifu Amoako, who resides in Tesano, Accra.
According to reports, he is a minor, but the police have not addressed this other than to say that their investigations are still ongoing.
After receiving medical attention, one of the survivors was let out of the hospital.
The two female victims’ remains have been placed at the morgue.
Seven people were engaged in the total accident: three from the Honda Acura and four from the Jaguar.
The white Jaguar was shown driving quickly through a crowded location in a CCTV clip that was circulated on social media. It then crashed into a wooden electric post and the Honda Acura from behind.
A fire was ignited by wires from the pole that fell over the Honda Acura.
In the Acura, two people were trapped and severely burned.
Responding to the distress call, members of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) first determined that the two fatalities were female.
The four other passengers in the Jaguar were taken to the hospital, but the two victims of the fire in the Acura were not.
The two automobiles were completely engulfed in flames from the pole, and the occupants were left with no way out.
Thick black smoke was seen pouring from the area, according to witnesses, and the horrifying fire soon drew onlookers, many of whom stood motionless as the flames grew.
A terrifying image of the occurrence was shown in video footage that the GNFS posted on social media.
