On Sunday, October 6, 2024, hundreds of models attended the Rhythms On Da Runway Model Casting, which was hosted at the African Regent Hotel in Accra. It was a magnificent sight to behold.
The platform functioned as a chance for aspiring models to advance their careers, offered by Nineteen57 Events, the people behind Rhythms On Da Runway.
Over 250 models—a mix of male, female, and child models—showed up for casting; after rigorous selection procedures, roughly 55 fortunate models made the cut.
In the upcoming weeks leading up to the event on November 30, they would be trained.
For the major match in the Grand Arena, a few celebrities would also be added.
The event’s organizer, Kofi Okyere Darko, expressed his admiration at the caliber of work exhibited, noting that in addition to choosing the participants for the performance, they also informed the majority of them about their unique abilities and how to further develop them.
Renowned video director and creative consultant Nana Asihene, one of the judges, stated that they were searching for models with the elegance to wear premium clothing on the big day.
According to him, there was intense competition because the judges were looking for models who fit a specific size and had a certain style, among other characteristics.
Mr. Asihene also gave them advice on how to be more professional, such as attending rehearsals and prioritizing their work.
The chosen models would receive the greatest preparation for the major show, according to Dionne Slash Gavin, the producer, choreographer, and judge of the multinational fashion event.
He tasked them with making sure they were ready for the chance to advance their skill and careers.
The major event, “Kente Edition,” is a night of outstanding music, fashion, and cultural celebration at the Grand Arena.
