Reggie Zippy’s wife Edith Ward refutes claims of being shut out from their children’s lives

Edith Ward, the ex-wife of Ghanaian musician Reggie Zippy, has responded to his public claims that he has been excluded from their children’s lives following their August 2023 divorce. In a recent interview with Caleb Nii Boye, Ward disputed Reggie’s accusations, stating that he has made no effort to connect with the children.

Addressing Reggie’s complaints, Ward explained, “What do you mean by giving him access to the kids? Has he behind the scenes called, sent a text, or even an email? He hasn’t.” She emphasized that despite the difficulties of raising the children alone, she would welcome support from their father.

Ward also highlighted the emotional and financial burden she faces, working full-time while managing the children’s activities. “I’ve been accused of not letting him be involved, but as a father, I would want you to take them to football… On the financial side too, it’s been a battle.”

She further expressed her frustration with the loss of privacy following the public fallout of their divorce, revealing how it has impacted her and the children.

Recently, Reggie lamented not having seen his kids for nearly two years, stating that he misses them daily but continues to pay their child maintenance allowances. He also claimed that Ward had turned their eldest son against him, attributing the son’s disrespect to his mother’s influence.

Ward previously filed for divorce, citing infidelity, lies, alcohol abuse, and financial neglect as the reasons for their split. She accused Reggie of having an affair with a white woman for two to three years and said his failure to provide financially forced her to work tirelessly to support the family.
