Fight Against Galamsey: Adjetey Anang calls for action against galamsey’s devastating impact on Ghana’s water bodies

Renowned Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has voiced his deep concern regarding the severe consequences of illegal mining, known as galamsey, on the country’s water bodies. In a recent interview, he highlighted the urgent need for drastic measures to address the crisis, emphasizing the threat it poses to countless lives.

 

Adjetey expressed his despair at witnessing the destruction of water bodies in areas affected by galamsey, stating, “I support these causes in making sure that we arrest this case so that lives are saved… It is time for us to make noise and keep making noise about this because our lives are at stake.”

 

He advocates for peaceful demonstrations against galamsey activities, urging that they be conducted within the bounds of the law. “I am a man of the law, and as long as we are doing these things within the confines of the law, we are good and safe,” he said, stressing the importance of conveying their message without compromising public safety.
