NPP Factions Unite in Fomena Ahead of 2024 Elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a significant step towards unity in the Fomena constituency of the Ashanti Region. A unity rally was held at Dompoase, where Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s vice presidential candidate, urged party members to put aside past grievances and work together to secure a decisive victory in the December 7 elections.

The rally marked a significant turning point, as two feuding groups within the party, who had been at odds for four years, finally agreed to unite and work together. Dr. Prempeh brokered the peace and encouraged the groups to forgive and forget in the interest of the party.

Dr. Prempeh emphasized that the NPP’s anticipated victory depends on peace and unity among party members. He noted that the party has unfinished business in government and needs a massive electoral victory to sustain its good works. The NPP administration, led by President Akufo-Addo, has worked tirelessly over the last eight years to put the country on the path of prosperity.

In a show of unity, the NPP Fomena office, which had been locked for four years, was reopened after the peace meeting. Dr. Prempeh also endorsed the party’s decision to support Andrew Asiamah, the sitting independent MP, as their parliamentary candidate for the 2024 polls.

Asiamah expressed his commitment to leading the NPP to victory in Fomena and pledged to work closely with the party. He called on party leaders and supporters to put aside past grievances and unite for the greater good.

Meanwhile, Dr. Prempeh warned electorates in the Ashanti Region against voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that the party has consistently neglected the region’s development.
