NPP to NDC: Follow Electoral Commission Procedures

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is calling out the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Dramani Mahama to follow the established procedures set by the Electoral Commission (EC). Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah, General Secretary of the NPP, questioned why the NDC is not allowing the EC to do its job, instead opting for demonstrations.

Koduah pointed out the NDC’s hypocrisy, citing their 2015 statement acknowledging the EC’s independence. He believes the NDC’s demand for an independent forensic audit of the provisional register is needless, deceptive, and aimed at creating tension ¹.

NPP’s Concerns:

– Hypocrisy: NDC’s sudden change in stance on the EC’s independence
– Unnecessary Tensions: NDC’s allegations of irregularities and manipulation
– Lack of Evidence: NDC’s failure to provide proof of their claims

Koduah urged the NDC to submit their evidence to the EC, media, and the public. He expressed confidence in the NPP’s and Dr. Bawumia’s chances of winning the 2024 elections.

The NPP’s stance comes as former President Mahama prepares for the 2024 elections, outlining his key policies, including economic reforms.
