The Paramount Chief of Kumawu, Barima Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua, has lavished praise on Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka ‘Napo’, for his recent selection as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vice presidential candidate.
During a courtesy call by Dr. Prempeh at the Kumawuhene’s palace, Barima Tweneboah Kodua expressed his profound admiration for Napo’s exceptional leadership qualities, achievements, and dedication to the development of Asanteman.
“Your elevation to the vice presidential candidate position in your political party has brought immense honour to Asanteman,” Barima Tweneboah Kodua stated, emphasizing that Napo’s merits and achievements make him an exemplary choice for the position.
The Kumawumanhene highlighted Napo’s outstanding performance as Education Minister, particularly his pivotal role in implementing the free Senior High School (SHS) policy. This initiative, he noted, has significantly reduced school dropouts and alleviated financial burdens on parents and guardians.
“Your free SHS programme has been a game-changer. We no longer receive requests for school fees, thanks to your tireless efforts,” Barima Tweneboah Kodua said, drawing applause from the gathering.
Additionally, the Kumawumanhene commended Napo’s exemplary service as Energy Minister, citing his unique expertise and knowledge that have yielded visible results.
Barima Tweneboah Kodua also expressed gratitude for the NPP’s development projects in Kumawu, notably the construction of the Sekyere Kumawu District Hospital. He encouraged Napo to continue supporting Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s presidential bid with unwavering dedication.
