Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has ridiculed claims made by NDC MPs that the government misused their Common Fund to purchase DRIP machines. Speaking at a campaign rally in Kwapong, Asunafo South Constituency, Dr. Prempeh expressed amusement at the accusations, questioning the logic behind them.
He emphasized that the government would not intentionally purchase subpar equipment, and urged unity and progress over petty squabbles. Dr. Prempeh stressed that no ruling party would allow their opponents to take credit for their achievements, saying “It’s laughable for NDC MPs to suggest we’d use their Common Fund for ineffective machines. We won’t let our opponents claim credit for our hard work. The truth will always come to light.”
The crowd at Kwapong rallied behind Dr. Prempeh, applauding his statements. The NPP running mate’s address has sparked a lively debate, with many discussing the DRIP machines controversy and the importance of accountability in governance.
