Ga Mantse is scheduled to attend the October 7–10, 2024 Africa Cinema Summit.

Among the prominent personalities scheduled to attend the second edition of the Africa Cinema Summit, which is scheduled to take place from October 7–10, 2024, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, is King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, also known as the Ga Mantse.

The summit’s organizers, the National Film Authority (NFA), formally invited the King to the gathering during a courtesy call on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, a former member of the creative industry and art enthusiast, accepted the offer and recognized the importance of supporting the creation of films that chronicle the story of Ghana and the role that film plays in preserving cultural heritage.

Thus, he promised to back the cause that the National Film Authority was promoting.

A three-day event, the Africa Cinema Summit invites global stakeholders from the cinema industry value chain to Africa.

The summit is special because it’s the first of its kind to take place in Africa and because it addresses the peculiarities of the African film industry together with its many prospects and problems.

This summit is results-driven, with a focus on developing an engaging and supportive environment where attendees may build relationships, network, create leads, and potentially complete deals both during and after the event.

Filmmakers from twenty African nations traveled to Ghana for the inaugural summit last year, where they participated in a variety of talks about the development of the film industry on the continent.

The goal of this year’s edition is to promote cooperation, creativity, and long-term growth while further solidifying the advancements achieved in the African film industry.

The 2024 meeting will center on how rising local content production and consumption quality is bolstering the argument for more funding for movie theaters.

The group, which included Daniel Amoateng, Head of Film Classification, and Gyasiwa Ansah, Head of Production, was led by Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA).

The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, Century CineMax (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda), Canal Olympia, Filmhouse Group (Nigeria), Silverbird Cinema (Ghana), and the National Film Authority are among the partners involved in the Africa Cinema Summit.
