Dr. Ayesu is Janet Nabla’s running mate, and the PNP supports her as flag bearer.

Janet Asana Nabla has been chosen by the People’s National Party (PNP) to be the party’s candidate in the general elections of 2024.

Additionally, the party has chosen Dr. Edmund Ayesu as its running mate. Dr. Ayesu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Science Research, Kumasi Technical University.

Suleman Seidu, the PNP’s general secretary, signed a statement that the party released on Monday, September 2, 2024, that included this information.

According to Mr. Seidu, the decision was taken by the PNP’s National Executive Committee during a meeting on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

He emphasized that the crucial choice was an important milestone in the party’s quest to give Ghana a leadership group dedicated to a revolutionary shift.

He noted that Ms. Nabla was selected because of her extensive background in political leadership, health administration, and public service. He also mentioned the important contributions she makes to the board and her steadfast dedication to the principles of social justice, economic sovereignty, and gender equality.

Her historic position as Ghana’s first female general secretary of a political party, according to the statement, attested to her trailblazing spirit and commitment to improving all Ghanaians.

Regarding Dr. Ayesu, the PNP claimed that his background in civil society advocacy, policy design, and applied econometrics modeling well matched the party’s goal of a wealthy and just Ghana.

The PNP’s choice, which prioritizes the pillars of family, community, and the country, was characterized in the statement as one that highlights the party’s confidence in Ms. Nabla and Dr. Ayesu as the right team to lead the party into the December polls.
