Fredyma urges Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to turn rivalry into profitable showbiz opportunity

Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, believes that Shatta Wale’s proposed Dancehall King clash with his archrival Stonebwoy at the Accra/Ohene Gyan Sports Stadium could be a massive success if the opportunity is seized.

Speaking on the potential event, Fredyma emphasized that it’s not just about the entertainment factor but also the business side of the show. “This is showbiz. Let’s not only think about the show or entertainment part but also consider the business aspect,” he noted, stressing the financial gains that both artists could make if they collaborate on this event.

Fredyma further suggested that the event doesn’t need to have a definitive winner, which would allow for a sequel to capitalize on the entertainment and economic value. He sees this as a strategic move to use their rivalry, which he believes is more for clout than genuine hatred, to boost their careers and the country’s image, especially with many visitors expected during the Christmas holidays.

The legendary music producer highlighted the massive fan base of both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, expressing confidence that the event would fill the stadium and be a financial triumph. He proposed that the artists could charge GH¢50 for the event, and both should be awarded plaques to maintain the competitive spirit while ensuring a tie.

Fredyma concluded by urging the two artists to put aside their egos and focus on the business potential, as both are significant assets to the nation. He made these remarks during an interview with Prince Benjamin on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
