Leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar has announced his ambitious vision to transform Ghana’s Western Region into what he envisions as “the Texas of Africa.”
He made this known during the launch of his 12-pillar manifesto, Cheddar highlighted the region’s vast potential, describing it as “the richest region, not just in Ghana, but possibly on the entire continent.”
“This is where we plan to establish the most industrial plants, utilizing the abundant minerals and agro products for processing,” Cheddar stated.
He expressed his belief that the development of the Western Region could position Ghana as a global economic powerhouse, capable of “supplying Africa and even the world.”
Cheddar criticized Ghana’s current economic structure, arguing that the country’s financial stability is undermined by its dependence on imports. “The more we import products, the more we drain our economy,” he cautioned.
He also introduced his concept of a “24-hour economy,” which focuses on industrialization to increase productivity and create jobs across multiple shifts. “Only machines and plants can provide jobs for three shifts a day, each lasting eight hours,” he explained.
