NDC flagbearer John Mahama addressed the people of Ashaiman constituency, cautioning Akufo-Addo-Bawumia appointees not to flee the country if he wins the 2024 elections. He emphasized the importance of accountability, citing his own experience of staying in Ghana to face allegations against him, including claims of owning a hotel in Dubai, a ship in Japan, and stashing government money in Switzerland.
Mahama appealed to NPP appointees to remain in the country and account for their actions if he assumes office. He stressed that public servants, paid with taxpayers’ money, owe it to the people to explain their actions.
Recalling the NDC’s time in power, Mahama noted that they were labeled “incompetent” despite their efforts. He warned that those expecting the NPP or Akufo-Addo-Bawumia to have any positive surprises up their sleeves will be disappointed.
Mahama’s message emphasized the need for accountability and transparency in governance, urging NPP appointees to take responsibility for their actions and stay in Ghana to face the consequences if he wins the election.
