Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Personal Assistant to the NDC Flagbearer, has responded to Kyei Mensah Bonsu’s claims that removing taxes from betting would encourage more youth to engage in betting activities. Mogtari argued that Kyei Mensah’s children are gainfully employed, making his perspective less relatable to the struggles of the youth.

During an interview on Angel FM, Kyei Mensah Bonsu stated that he sees no reason why Mahama would remove taxes from betting, claiming it would negatively impact the country.

Joyce Bawa Mogtari countered that the youth are turning to betting due to high unemployment rates and a lack of alternatives. She highlighted the significant imbalances, inequities, and corruption in the country, making it difficult for the youth to find employment. Mogtari emphasized that Kyei Mensah’s gainfully employed children make his perspective less relatable to the struggles of the youth.

In essence, Mogtari is saying that Kyei Mensah’s views on betting taxes are out of touch with the reality of the youth’s struggles in finding employment.
