President Akufo-Addo Boasts of Road Infrastructure Achievements, Launches District Road Improvement Program

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has touted his administration’s commitment to road infrastructure development, stating that it has outperformed the previous government in the last seven years. Speaking at the launch of the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) and the commissioning ceremony of equipment to improve road networks, the President emphasized his government’s dedication to bringing development to every Ghanaian’s doorstep.

The DRIP, a collaboration between the government, the JOSPONG Group of Companies, and the People’s Republic of China, aims to equip districts with machines and equipment for road construction. Over 2240 units of various equipment and machines are being distributed to all districts, demonstrating the government’s efforts to improve the road network.

The President commended the JOSPONG Group of Companies for their role in assembling the equipment and expressed gratitude for their support to local businesses. The Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting its potential for regular maintenance works on roads.

Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the JOSPONG Group of Companies, thanked the President for his support and pledged to provide training and technical support to manage the equipment. He expressed hope that future equipment would be assembled in Ghana.
