Sulemana Joins Atalanta: Ghanaian Midfielder Signs Four-and-a-Half-Year Deal

Atalanta has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana, bolstering their midfield options for the upcoming season. Sulemana joins the club from Cagliari, where he impressed last season with 2 goals in 16 starts.

The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Atalanta, demonstrating the club’s commitment to his development and growth. The transfer fee is reportedly worth €7.5 million to €9 million, including add-ons, a testament to Sulemana’s potential and value in the market.

Sulemana’s journey to Atalanta began in 2019 when he joined the club from Ghanaian side WAFA. He was subsequently loaned to Hellas Verona and later Cagliari, where he gained valuable experience and honed his skills.

The Ghanaian midfielder’s return to Atalanta marks a new chapter in his career, and he will have the opportunity to feature in the Champions League following Atalanta’s impressive fourth-placed finish last season.

Atalanta’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, has expressed his delight at Sulemana’s signing, praising his speed, skill, and versatility. The midfielder’s ability to play in various positions will undoubtedly strengthen Atalanta’s squad, providing Gasperini with more options in midfield.
