The chiefs and elders of Nkroful in the Eastern Nzema traditional area of the Ellembelle district of the Western region of Ghana have addressed a press conference at Nkroful the hometown of Dr Kwame Nkrumah to demand a proper apology from him over what they term as an insult to the people of Nkroful

According these chiefs, It is intriguing to note that,his posture of not admitting to insulting Nkrumah in his release is not enough and they are calling on him to come again since his claim is deemed hollow.

The Chiefs and people of Nzema said they have observed with great concern the comments that sought to undermine, denigrate and humiliate Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah during the official introduction of Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh as the Running Mate for New Patriotic Party in Kumasi on Tuesday 8 July, 2024.

Nana Kwasi Kutuah V, chief of Nkroful reading their press statement said Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh comments where he alluded to using the phrase in our local Twi parlance as”Mo Kwame Nkrumah Nu” meaning “Your Kwame Nkrumah” smacks as gross disrespect against Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and they condemn it with all alacrity.

Nana Kwasi Kutuah the fifth added that their attention has been drawn to various media publications that Dr Mathew Prempeh has rendered an apology to Nkrumah and other past Presidents of Ghana, he is therefore demanding Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to come to Nzema to meet Nananom and the family of Dr Kwame Nkrumah at Nkroful to render an unserved apology to the kinsmen of the revered icon.

He is therefore entreating all political actors and their followers to advocate messages that will unite, foster peace and development of our motherland, Ghana

The head of the family of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah , Nana Adwobea Kpanyire in an interview said Napo must come to Nkroful before he can be forgiven
