Kennedy Agyapong urges NPP leaders to reconnect with grassroots

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has called on New Patriotic Party (NPP) leaders to mend fences with the grassroots, following his unsuccessful bid in the party’s presidential election.

Speaking at the official unveiling of running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Agyapong emphasized that many leaders have alienated the grassroots and should seek their forgiveness.

“I urge party leaders who have upset our members to return and apologize,” Agyapong said, representing the other unsuccessful presidential aspirants. “Respecting them will change their minds. Leadership means uniting and leading with respect.”

He continued, “The Bible teaches that leadership starts with servitude. Being elected does not grant you the right to dominate. Some leaders have shown arrogance and disrespect, but now they must face the people. We should apologize and strive for unity to overcome the eight-year cycle.”
