The La Liga club Valencia announced on Monday their decision to part with coach Rubén Baraja with immediate effect.
This decision certainly comes against the backdrop of a tumultuous campaign for everyone associated with the club.
Valencia is currently in last position in the La Liga table, with only 12 points collected from 17 games so far.
Los Che have collected just two points from 15 in their last five games, the last of which required an injury-time equalizer to secure a share of the spoils at home to Deportivo Alavés on Sunday.
And it is this result that was the last straw for those behind Mestalla. The announcement comes after manager Rubén Baraja was relieved of his duties.
As stated in a press release published on the club’s website and social media on Monday afternoon:
“Valencia CF has decided to end the term of Rubén Baraja as first team coach.
“The club would like to publicly thank Baraja for the passion, dedication and commitment he has shown from the first day to the last day of his tenure.”
